Orange Effects

Orange Effects

Hello and this time we'll create extremely fill of glow wallpaper. Out theme for today is - oranges so this is why the base color of our illustration will be orange too. Let's start by creating a document in Photoshop.

orange

Now let's find some orange references in the net.

orange

Here are some fine oranges to work with - but not that i will use other orange reference photo in the end ( it will be included in the set).

Here is the full composition.

So the first thing i'm going to do is - clear all the white areas and leave the background transparent. Many tactics will do here. As we have nicely done big dimension picture we can use : selections magic eraser tool and just an eraser: may things to choose from. I'm not using the single one - I'm combining selections with plain eraser.

So here is our result: As you can see it is nicely clean and has a transparent background - like just we needed.

orange

orange

Now back to our initial document. Copy the orange there and position it like i do.

orange

orange

As a background i will use paper texture. It easy to find one on the net i guess.

orange

Set it underneath the orange layer - here we go.

orange

It seems to me that background need a little bit more attention. I'd like to drop some stripes to the background. Here is vertical stripe with default color. i will use the same stripe with the same color in next steps.

orange

Here is the same color stripe with blending mode set to Exclusion. in changed our color - it looks ok i think.

orange

Then let's draw some horizontal lines too: oh did i say draw ? you can just copy the ones that you have.

orange

As

you can see -one line is smaller than the other and the colors vary too. This is actually our very first line with different layer blending modes.

orange

Here is the result:

orange

SO a think we are done shaping the document. i think it is time to begin to adjust colors and add some elements to it.

First take any texture brush you have, create a layer next to paper texture layer set it to overlay.

orange

orange

Now let's take care of our Orange - main object. First i would like to apply some of layer effects using layer styles.

Here are the settings.

orange

orange

As you can see i used glow filters only.

orange

Zoom in a little bit - there is also a good way to add local contrast to the are - you just create a layer underneath the object layer set it's mode to overlay or soft light and paint with White using soft edged brush - Airbrush (with opacity set to 3-9%).

Our next step will be the creation of deco elements to the object - the orange. I will pick a HR floral brush. So create a layer underneath the orange layer but upper than all the layers with the stripes. Choose Floral brush ( download ) pick white color and do just one tap.

orange

... a little bit more of those.

Create A Simple Retro Photo manipulation

Step 1
Open a new document on Photoshop 500 pixels width 600 pixels height and 300dpi with white background color.
Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
Open the Stock Image and drag then fit it into your canvas. You don’t have to cut or render the stock because in this composition I have used it as is.
Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
After placing the stock into your canvas the next step will be putting some Vector Brush (vector sun ray brush). I have selected the ray that looks like the sun ray and changed the Master Diameter of the brush into 650px. Create a new layer and brush it into the middle of the canvas.
Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
Using the same layer with the brush that you have made, add a layer mask.

Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
Drag the gradient tool into the middle of the brush going to the right end of the canvas (repeat this until you get the desired outcome) and then change the Blending Mode into Screen.
Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
Step 2
The next step will make the composition an old look, to make this I have used a white rose image that will give it the old look. To do this here open the Flower Image and then drag it to the canvas and change the blending mode into Overlay.
Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
Change the position of the flower until you get this result.
Create an New Layer and select the Cloud Brush and brush some cloud at the upper of the canvas and erase the unwanted parts until you get this result.
Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
In this next step we will be using again a new stock which is a image of a tower. Again open the Tower Image and drag it into the canvas and position it into the lower part and erase the middle part of the added image (image with a tower) which is the part of the model. After erasing change the Blending Mode of into Overlay.
Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
In this next step we will add more grungy and old look, to do this I have selected a texture of the wall which I used to get the desire old look. Open the Texture Image and drag it into the canvas and change the blending mode into Soft Light. Again erase the part in which the model is placed to make the model more clear and visible.

Step 3
Now we will add some lighting effects in the models hand, to do this we will use a soft brush, select the brush too (B) and select the round brush with a Master Diameter of 100px and set the Hardness to 0%. Create a New Layer and apply the brush into the hand of the model and change the Blending Mode into Linear Dodge.

Resize the layer make it thinner to get this result.
Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
This is how to create the line streak lightings I only made it into a new document to make it clear/visible and easy to follow. Here is the result after placing it into the canvas (duplicate and rotating) and changing the Blending Mode into Overlay.

Put the sun flower into the left part of the models head and erase the part that covers the model.
Create A Simple Retro Photomanipulation
After erasing and change the Blending Mode of the Sun flower into Luminousity
